ROCK FINANCIAL NAMED "BEST & BRIGHTEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR" IN METRO-DETROIT BY THE MICHIGAN BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION

Livonia, MI (November 11, 2002) -- The Michigan Business & Professional Association (MBPA) has named Rock Financial as "Metropolitan Detroit's Best & Brightest Company to Work For." The award was presented to Rock Financial for its innovative, family-friendly human resources practices at the company's headquarters here late last week.

Rock Financial is a subsidiary of Quicken Loans, which is the nation's leading online lender. The company employs 1,164 mortgage professionals and is based in Livonia Mi.

Daniel Gilbert, founder and Chairman of Rock Financial/Quicken Loans Inc., accepted the award, which was presented by Jennifer Kluge, Executive Vice President of the MBPA.

In presenting the award, Kluge said the criteria included diversity, compensation and benefits, employee communication and recognition, employee education and development, as well as employee motivation and enthusiasm. Kluge said Rock Financial topped the charts in each category.

"We also conducted an anonymous survey of employees," said Kluge. "And 96 percent of all Rock Financial employees surveyed "strongly agreed" that your company was a great place to work."

"This award is very important," Gilbert told employees during the ceremony. "But the reason we won "The Best Place To Work" in metro Detroit award is because of the hard work, bright thoughts, and deep loyalty you show this place each and every day. You are the heart and soul of it all."

Rock Financial beat out the likes of Volkswagen of America Inc. and Ernst and Young to win the award. Comprehensive benefits, great perks (like a performance by the Monkees at the annual holiday party), flexible schedules, and a generous parental leave policy are all part of the company's culture. Last year, 40% of base compensation was paid out in benefits. Additionally, every team member receives diversity training and domestic partners qualify for medical, dental and vision benefits. Last year, while still part of Intuit Inc., the company was named to Fortune's "100 Great Places to Work" list.
